pumpkin-inspirations_09 Oct 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Halloween would not be complete without the carving of the pumpkin, but for those who are bored with the traditional toothy grin, it can seem a boring and tedious job. Never fear, printable templates are here, with a few cute and easy ideas to ease the pumpkin carving boredom.

The tradition of pumpkin carving started with the Celts, who would carve out the insides of turnips, rutabagas, gourds, potatoes and beets in order to set them outside on Samhein to welcome friendly spirits or the spirits of their loved ones who had passed. The tradition slowly moved on into carving out pumpkins with scary faces to ward off evil spirits.

For those readers who are looking for the templates and designs to make the cuter and more new aged pumkins, ‘Reader’s Digest’ has several which are free and printable. Pictures can be seen by clicking this link and the printable templates for each one is at the bottom of it’s pic. Happy Halloween!
