Amritsar, Dec.3 (ANI): Sain Zahoor is a leading Sufi musician of Pakistan, who has spent his life singing in shrines. From making a nervous beginning in his career to achieving fame at international level, he describes his journey as a blessing of the almighty without which it wouldn’t have become a reality ever.

Born in Sahiwal region in the province of Punjab in Pakistan, Sain Zahoor was declared the “Best BBC Voice of the Year 2006″. The previous recipients of this award have included famous Sufi Singers such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Praveen.

“Without God willing nothing, not even a leaf can flutter. At my debut appearance I was a bit tense, as to what would happen next. By the grace of God, I gained confidence and since then I have been singing in the shrines in Pakistan,” said Sain Zahoor, the Sufi singer.

He tells that he began his professional career by singing the Kalam or, speech of Bulleh Shah which earned appreciation of the audience. “When they clapped, I was scared, thinking I sung something wrong. People asked me why was I quiet. I said, it might be that the audience didn’t like my singing. Then people said your singing was excellent. Then I got some confidence. And people even started requesting for a repeat of my programme on television,” said Zaoor.

He says people of all communities be it Muslims or Sikhs are all brothers. “I appeal that they should all love each other. If there is love then there is peace and unity. I want to send out a message of peace,” says Sain Zahoor, the Sufi singer. (ANI)
