Ludhiana, Nov.29 (ANI): Over 400 dogs of 40 different breeds were participated in a dog show organized by the Ludhiana Kennel Club over the weekend.

“Dogs from many regions like Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Banaras (Varanasi) and Gorakhpur are participating in this show. This Ludhiana dog show is one of the biggest dog shows of north India,” said Avninder Grewal, Patron of Ludhiana Kennel Club.

Dogs were judged on various factors like coat, temperament, agility and the likes as per the standard set by the Kennel club of India (KCI).

“Dogs have their own requirement, especially the famous breeds, like they have to walk or run 8-10 kilometers daily. But nowadays we don’t have time to take the dogs out for a walk. So, we have bought a treadmill for our dog, so that the dog exercises daily. The dogs get used to this and work out daily on it,” said Mandeep Kaur, the owner of a Labrador.

Among 40 breeds of dogs that participated in the show were Rottweiler, Saint Bernard, Beagle, German Shepherd, Lhasa Apso, Great Dane, Shar Pei, English mastiff, Pug, Labrador, Boxer, Dachshund smooth hair, Afghan hound, Basset Hound, Caravan hound, Siberian husky, English pointer and Dalmatian.
