Nagaland road shows encouraging local entrepreneurs

Kohima, May 20 (ANI): Enterpreneurs in remote Nagaland have experienced satisfaction about the roadshows being undertaken by the State Government in fiscal 2010-11.
The theme of this year is the ‘Year of Entrepreneurship’. The Nagaland Government sponsored road show is providing a much-needed platform for local entrepreneurs to show their works and expertise.
Budding entrepreneurs working in manufacturing sectors like handlooms and handicrafts and service sectors like health, education and arts. They are keen to carve out a niche for themselves.
During a recent two-day road show in Mokokchung, a ceremony was held to felicitate outstanding entrepreneurs.
“We feel the time has come for Naga society not to remain a consumer society but a producing society. We have launched “The Year of the Youth” to empower youths,followed by capacity building,”, said Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
Different festivals like Yemshe of the Pochury Naga Tribe, Ngada of the Rengma Tribe, Mimkut of the Kuki Tribe and others are celebrated as a part of the show.
Dance troupes from different villages of the state also showcased their talent
in their exotic traditional attire, mesmerizing the audience.
“So many people around the world and the nation are coming and participating. They are seeing the traditional ways of our lives. We are glad that people are co-operating with each other,” said Athula, a participant.
“They have invited us. We are very happy and glad. This kind of relationship will create peace and good relationship between all the neighboring states,” added Manjusana, an artist from Assam. (ANI)
