Magnitude 6.0 quake struck off Sichuan-Gansu border region, China

Strong earthquake magnitude 6.0 shook Sichuan-Gansu border region, China at Tuesday, August 05, 2008 at 09:49:17 UTC , (05:49:17 PM CST)

The epicenter of the earth quake is located at 32.810°N, 105.556°E at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter is 50 km NNW from Guangyuan, Sichuan, 140 km WSW from Hanzhong, Shaanxi, 370 km NNW from Chongqing, Chongqing and 1245 km SW from Beijing of China.

However, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

A strong earthquake struck in the Chinese provinces of Sichuan and Gansu on Tuesday, near the site of May’s devastating quake that killed at least 70,000 people, which was considered to be the worst quake in China.
