New York, August 25(ANI): Lindsay Lohan has been released from substance abuse rehab.

And the actress used first moments of her freedom to call her mom, sources close to the family said.

A lawyer for the ‘Mean Girls’ star is scheduled to ask a judge to formally approve Lohan’s early release from drug rehab at UCLA Medical Center, reports the New York Post.

She was sentenced to 90 days in rehab and did a little more than three weeks. She previously spent two weeks in jail, for violating terms of her probation from two DUI busts.

Lohan’s case workers at UCLA have said she’s done with their lock-down program and is ready for outpatient treatment.

The actress’ family hopes to bring her to Merrick, LI, as soon as possible, so she can spend time with her mom and siblings, sources close to the Lohans have said. (ANI)
