Infrastructure work satisfies Srinagar residents

Srinagar, Nov. 11 (ANI): Srinagar residents are satisfied with the infrastructure development projects after the months of violence, strikes and curfews in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister of Public Health Engineering Taj Mohi-Ud-Din said the Ministry is hoping to complete everything early before heavy snowfall.
“Several projects were stalled, and as winter arrives we have started work in maximum places. Municipality work such as buildings, lanes, drainage, has now revived. Cleaning of Jhelum River has also started. The work should have started five months ago. Many such activities have come back on track now,” said Taj Mohi-Ud-Din.
Curfew and shutdowns in the region brought the city to a standstill. Hundreds of people remained indoors, while schools, universities and offices were closed down for months, halting all public works.
“Because of the situation in the last four-five months, all the work was stalled. The work has begun but unfortunately not all will be complete. Only some of it will be completed on time,” said Abdul Razak, a labourer.
The last few weeks of normalcy in the region has brought a sigh of relief for local residents.
“The work was stopped but has started again. The condition in the region was very bad. Now it is much better than before,” said Imran, a resident.
Hundreds of labourers are deployed and are now working on different infrastructure projects. (ANI)
