Dharamsala, Apr 10 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Police have conducted a mock disaster management drill in Dharamsala to train its personnel to face any emergency situation.
Himachal Pradesh Police Programme Coordinator and Assistant Commandant, Ved Prakash, said the drill was more important for Dharamsala as it was an earthquake prone area.
“This training is very important because this area of Dharamsala is earthquake prone. We are training one company which will be stationed here. The company will be sent wherever it is required,” Ved Prakash said.
Lalit Kumar, a trainee, said that in this drill they were taught how to tackle an emergency situation.
“We learn here how to tackle an emergency situation such as floods, droughts or accidents. We are taught how to save the trapped people and how to give them the first aid before taking them to the hospital,” said Kumar.
Over 350 policemen have undergone such training and about 30 policemen are still learning these rescue operations. (ANI)
