Chandausi (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 8 (ANI): Devotees at Chandausi city of Uttar Pradesh dressed up as servitors of Lord Shiva and took out a colourful procession.
The traditional procession, which is taken out by the devotees on Saturday, is known as ‘Shiv Baraat’.
Several tableaus marked the occasion in which the devotee-artistes danced as they passed through streets and narrow lanes of Chandausi.
“It is an ancient fair. It is unique to this place. In this, the artiste-devotees dressed up as ghosts and servitors of the Lord Shiva and take out a procession,” said Kamal Kumar, the organiser.
Devotees also fast, chant hymns and make offerings of milk, honey, fruits and flowers to Lord Shiva. (ANI)
