Maner (Bihar), Aug 1 (ANI): A large number of devotees offer liquor at a shrine as their religious offering in Maner city of Bihar’s Patna district.
Devotees visiting the temple devoted to Goraiya Baba have a belief that the deity will be pleased with liquor, as it used to be his favourite once upon a time.
In turn, the deity will answer their prayers said at this temple.
“Whoever comes here to pray or asking for something offers liquor and milk to the saint as an offering. Goraiya Baba is very powerful and we believe in him,” said Tara Devi, a devotee.
“Some deities love laddoo, some love butter, but Goraiya Baba loves liquor. His main food is alcohol so whoever comes here serves and worships him with liquor,” said Nandkeshwar Singh, the caretaker of the temple.
Singh also said that the tradition of offering alcohol is being carried out since many years now. (ANI)
