Delhi’s Trade Fair opens doors for marketing for small-scale industries
November 17th, 2010 - 7:48 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Nov.17 (ANI): The India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2010 in New Delhi has opened doors for marketing for small-scale industries.
The Additional Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Samarendra Sahu, said that marketing is one of the major problems for the small-scale sector, so this exhibition provides opportunities to small-scale entrepreneurs to open up marketing possibilities.
“Marketing is one of the major problems of the small-scale sector, so this is one attempt to open markets for the small-scale enterprises, which are spread across the country so this would facilitate B to B (business to business) as well as B to C (business to customer) contact for the small-scale sector,” said Sahu.
“And this is an exhibition, which we have been holding from 2007 onwards. The primary aim of this exhibition is to give an opportunity to the small-scale entrepreneur to showcase their products, so that you know, they have marketing possibilities open up for them,” he added.
Around 30-40 stalls of small-scale industries have been set-up at the Trade Fair.
This year’s event is the 30th edition of the IITF.
The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the nodal agency of the Central Government of India, hosts this annual trade exposition in which each year, some Indian States are allotted positions of partner State and focus States to give the fair a more vibrant colour.
This year, the partner states are Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
The estimated budget of this grand trade expo is expected to be in the range of 1 billion dollars.
Twenty-three countries have showcase a wide range of products and services and special arrangements have been made at their stalls and pavilions for security. (ANI)
