So, we have to rise up to the fact that we are Assamese first, so people residing in Assam are Assamese. So once they realize that, once they are sure of their identity, I think cinema will follow their familiarities with Assamese literature and everything will follow. Because if we do not become aware of our roots, I think we can’t do much in life.”The Assam Government is also doing its bit to promote the Assamese film industry, by organizing film festivals, and relaxing Entertainment charges.Mina Das Baruah, a local cinema enthusiast, said that he was happy to see the recent development of the industry.”After a long gap I am very happy to see an Assamese movie and had always liked the acting of Nipen Goswami and Molioya Goswami. And, it was good today. After the low that the Assamese film has witnessed, we hope it will rise up again and whatever Assamese movies are made we will always watch them and will take out some time for them,” Baruah said. The film, ‘Jibon Bator Logori’ is based on a love story that explores the Assamese social system and its inherent problems.
