Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Dec.18 (ANI): A special arms training camp has been organised by the Army for girls to defend themselves against militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District.
Officials said the camp was organised to provide training to girls so that if any kind of emergency occurs, the girls should be ready to fight back.
“We have provided them the training of using AK-47 and also given them the training of rock climbing. They live in hilly region so the training of rock climbing was very important,” said S.S. Chillar, Commanding Officer, 29 Rajputana Rifles.
“We have also taught them that if some natural calamity occurs, then how they have to face it and overcome it,” he added.
Girls enthusiastically attended the training camp to learn the handling of hi-tech weapons used by the armed forces to combat militant attacks.
“With the help of this training we have learned that if anybody comes in front of us then we can fight back. Earlier, when we used to look at the weapons, we used to feel scared but today the Army people have helped us to hold the weapon and use it, and we can fight back our enemy,” said Siama Mushtaq, a resident of Rajouri.
