Oct 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There are twenty-five different varieties of apples which are currently grown in the United States, and some apple-growers even hold a patent on their tempting fruits. There are even DNA test done to identify the parent fruits of many apple varieties so that those farmers can be protected. The rilling hills and big country family life depicted in so many commercials is true, and yet not, but most places still suggest that you support your local apple farmers.

Locally grown apples are less likely to be full of chemicals and more likely to be a purer fruit with natural taste. It is also a great idea to grow your own trees if you frequently use apples in your recipes.

So which apple variety is the best for making applesauce, and breads? The experts recommend adding as many different varieties as possible when making apple recipes. This is because with a wider variety of flavors, some sweet and some sour, you will override the need for added sugar or lemon juice and will be able to get more actual apple taste.
