Veteran’s Day 2009 activities

New York, Nov 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Here is a glimpse of some of the Veteran Day’s activities that will be held to honor the fallen soldiers. The Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System will honor their area’s veterans with a good concert and parade, in their remembrance, which will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Then at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Heritage Memorial Park will sponsor its third annual Veterans Remembrance Day Celebration at the local cemetery, which is located at 12000 Heritage Memorial Lane, in Dewey.
Then in the afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Chino Valley American Legion will play host to a service at the legion hall, East Road 3 South and Highway 89. A light dinner, which is open to all veterans, will be preceded by the traditional gun salute and a prayer short ceremony at 5 p.m.
Then in the later evening from the time period of 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, the Chino Valley Elks will treat veterans to an exclusive free breakfast during the Chino Valley Elks Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast at the Chino Valley Senior Citizens Center. For all the other people who want to partake the breakfast the cost would be $5 per head.
Besides this many organizations and schools have planned in advance for the Veteran’s day for their students, which include many craft activities and picnics.
In Salem, at 11 a.m., Salem High School auditorium there will be a speech in which Thaddeus Buczko, a veteran of World War II and Korea and a former probate judge, will be the guest speaker. This speech would be followed by lunch at VFW Post 1524, 95 Derby St.
