The National Hurricane center has predicted that what is now Hurricane Fay would make landfall somewhere between Naples and Tampa in Florida. The storm ha taken a path heading towards Ft. Myers.
Hurricane Fay is estimated to be over 150 miles wide and will cover quite a bit of territory of Florida. The storm has caused immense destruction in Haiti. According to rescue operations there people died after the storm violently demolished and swept structures.
Residents of Florida USA are waiting for the storm to strike any moment. Local authorities have issued warnings and evacuation orders. A number of warnings over the hurricane-force winds have been issued and people are keeping indoors while others are leaving town.
Tropical Storm Fay is rapidly gaining strength and speed. At the moment it has immensely strengthened and is expected to become a hurricane before it makes landfall in Florida.
Residents of Florida seem to be taking the warnings by weathermen lightly since only a small population seems to be evacuating Florida. Many residents are defying warnings and remaining indoors. This might cause serious repercussions including death and injuries, besides loss and destruction of property. Tropical storm Fay has already killed up-to 14 people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Its menacingly approaching Florida.
