November 11, is an official holiday for the American because it is the time to celebrate ’strongVeterans Day/strong’. For this year, 2008 is the 90th anniversary of the end of the first World War.
On Veterans Day, celebrations are made for all those people, living and dead, who answered the nation’s call to military service or who volunteered for it.
This day, present generations are especially mindful of the young men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and many others at outposts around the world. Those people are all saluted because the sacrifices they have made are too important to be ignored. And each generation of children needs to know they enjoy the fruits of freedom because so many Americans were willing to fight for them.
It is a good day to let members of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard know that a grateful nation understands that the nature of their profession means that today is just another day.
