Dec.13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a startling discovery possibly the biggest US based foreign adoption scam has been unearthed and it will be presented by CBS News as a 48 Hours documentary named ‘The Lost Children’. The investigation took two years before the sordid truth came out of the bag. Maureen Maher is going to act as the correspondent of the show. The show will highlight three families who adopted children originally belonging to Samoa, a island located in South Pacific region. The adoption agency named Focus On children was the mastermind behind this scam and they supplied the unfortunate kids to these families. The revelation has put these families in a dilemma they never expected to face.
It is an undeniable fact that in most of the cases adopted kids have to face a tougher time compared to others. They often go through identity crisis. The families that adopted the kids were misguided and told that those kids had no families. On the contrary, these kids were taken by the agency from their families under the pretext that they will get a better life and have contact with the families. However, in reality it did not happen with any of the kids. The American families will have to take a hard decision that may affect the kids as well.
They may return the kids to their respective families but the problem is that they may not be able to identify their parents and kins after spending so many days with whom they now consider their own. The correspondent of the episode was adopted and said she felt an inner motivation to do the presentation herself.
