srvr1Tropical Storm Erika is the 5th storm of this season that has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, as per the reports of the National Hurricane Center on Tuesday.

Weather reporters have project that the storm will be harmless for the next 5 days atleast, after which it will tilt towards the northwest and in doing so it will atleast not be affecting South Florida.

The NHC Forecast said that the storm is to “show slow intensification over the first couple of days…then weakening thereafter as the shear takes over. The NHC Forecast will be conservative at this time but it is of note that almost all of the reliable intensity guidance show Erika eventually becoming a hurricane, despite the shear.”

The maximum sustained winds recorded was 50mph which is predicted to gradually decrease in intensity. The center of Erika is 390 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands and should pass to the northeast of the Islands on Thursday. The wind is moving west northwest at a velocity of 9mph.

The east of Antigua and Barbuda are the most troubled parts due to this storm. Tropical storms are being kept in close watch in these parts and in St.Maarten, St.Barthelemy, and St.Kitts. The storm was registered as just short of being a developed hurricane, causing enough thunderstorms, but is not a major threat since there is a low-level circulation.

The National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration has forecasted hurricane Jimena to hit Cabo San Lazaro in the proximity of the town Peurto San Carlos by Wednesday morning, reportedly.
