Tornado Warning In San Diego Canceled

tornadoSan Diego, Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The National Weather Service in San Diego has warned the residents of an impending tornado. The warning has been sent out not only to San Diego, but also to Long Beach, Los Angeles and the state counties that are located close to those regions, like National City, La Vista, Coronado, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Lemon Grove and Imperial City. This was the second tornado warning that had been issued in that day. However, the warning had been canceled at around 3:15 in the afternoon.

Initially, the warning had been issued only for the cities that are located in the North County. The first tornado warning that had been issued were sent out to the cities of Carlsbad, Vista, Fallbrook, Encinitas and Oceanside. This first warning had been valid for the time period between 2 to 2:30 in the afternoon. It was predicted that the storm could move along at a velocity of up to 60 km/h. The National Weather Service reported that the storm was moving at a speed of 30km/h towards the northeastern region.

The National Weather Service did not term the impending thunderstorm as a tornado, but predicted that it might actually turn into one. The report that had been issued by the National Weather Service said that the tornado would be hitting many of the cities between Imperial Beach and Escondido. Although the warning expired after 3:15 in the afternoon, there were several disruptions in the cities. For example, various cities in San Diego County reported power failures, as per the reports given by the San Diego Gas and Electric. Cities in the North County like Escondido, Carlsbad, Poway and Ramona too were included.
