Thick fog, nippy winds in Delhi
December 29th, 2011 - 12:30 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 29 (IANS) Thick fog and an icy breeze made for cold Thursday morning in the capital. The minimum temperature, however, rose to 6.8 degrees Celsius - a notch below average.
“The visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 200 metres and humidity 92 percent,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.
The met office said a light blanket of fog would cover the city through the day and would get dense in the evening.
“The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees,” the official added.
Wednesday’s minimum temperature settled two notches below average at 5.2 degrees while the maximum was recorded at 23.9 degrees — three notches above average.
