Theregion of Altedena that encase the localities of Millard Canyon, the La Vina and The Meadows have been called for evacuation as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared emergency in Los Angeles County.
The La Canada Flintridge fire has penetrated the new locale which is under strict vigilance of officials. The Big Tujunga Canyon Road has been closed due to the new direction of the fire blaze. On Thursday night the fire crossed its expected parameters along the Highway 2, in Arroyo Serco area.
Inhabitants living along the Starlight Crest Drive were the new concern of fire officials. The blaze has charred 1500 acres and could be contained only by 10%, sources reported. The fire seemed to rage speedily through the western edges of Altadena. The fire had become an immediate concern of the firefighters since it seemed insatiably swift and burnt relentlessly. “It looks as if it’s approximately at the ridge west of Gould Misa,” said Meadow resident Lee Stapensky. Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Technician Ruby Kinkle told sources that they ere convincing residents for voluntary evacuation. It was increasingly difficult to map the rapid fire, said another official.
“How much can you take hen you live in a home for 20 years? Hopefully no structures get destroyed. That’s all I’m praying for. Things can get replaced but not lives,” said Nabila Idroos, a 60 year old senior resident, who was carrying her Koran and collecting her belongings as she planned to evacuate.
The air seemed slightly better in the San Gabriel Valley and the Los Angeles Basin, even though Altadena fire blazed uncontrollably. Another section of fire in the Palos Verdes Peninsula was being suppressed by gallons of water-splashing helicopters.
