Sweltering morning for Delhi, rain likely

New Delhi, June 24 (IANS) It was a sweltering morning for the capital Sunday with the minimum temperature settling five notches above the average for the season at 33.3 degrees Celsius. However the weather office has forecast some respite with rains later in the day.

“There is possibility of light rain in some areas later in the day. The maximum temperature will stay around 42 degrees Celsius,” said an official from India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 42 percent.

Saturday’s maximum temperature was five notches above the average at 42.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was was four notches above average at 31.4 degrees Celsius.
