Sweden eyes environmental cooperation with UAE
December 20th, 2010 - 11:55 pm ICT by IANSStockholm, Dec 20 (IANS/WAM) Sweden has expressed its desire to initiate cooperation with the United Arab Emirates on environmental protection, clean energy and waste treatment and related scientific research.”Sweden is set to take part in the next edition of CleanTech forum, scheduled in Abu Dhabi in April next year,” Staffan Tillander, ambassador for climate change at the Swedish ministry for environment, said.
The Swedish official also said he will visit the UAE next year ahead of the CleanTech meeting to hold meetings with UAE officials.
“(The forthcoming meeting) will be very important to show the progress made from the July meeting of the CleanTech forum in Washington this year,” Tillander added.
“The UAE (in the CleanTech meeting in Washington) played a very important role and we are trying to find ways to support it and participate in it,” Tillander remarked.
