Sunny morning in Delhi, rain likely

New Delhi, May 13 (IANS) It was a pleasant, sunny morning for the capital Sunday with the minimum temperature settling at 22 degrees Celsius, three notches below the average for the season. The met department has forecast light rains.

“Partly cloudy sky with thunder development is likely towards afternoon or evening. Maximum and minimum temperature will be around 37 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively,” said an official from India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. stood at 49 percent.

Delhi witnessed thunderstorm and a drizzle of 1.4 mm Saturday evening, bringing down the temperature and providing respite from the scorching heat during the day.

The temperature late Saturday evening was 25.4 degree Celsius, down from the day’s maximum of 40.3 degree Celsius, which was a notch above average. The minimum temperature was 25.2 degrees, average for this time of the season.
