Sultry Monday for Delhi, rains likely Tuesday (Lead)

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) After a warm weekend, Delhi residents faced another sultry day Monday with the maximum temperature shooting up to three notches above average to 36.9 degrees Celsius. Some light rain is likely Tuesday.

The minimum temperature Monday settled two notches above average at 27.4 degrees and the humidity wavered between a high and low of 91 and 54 percent, respectively.

“The sky will be partly cloudy and light rains might occur in some parts of the capital Tuesday,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to range between 37 and 27 degrees.
