Slight drizzle makes way for warm Sunday in Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) Light rainfall in the morning gave way to a warm, sunny day in the capital Sunday. Shallow fog also made a return after a break of many days.The maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 22.4 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, while the minimum was a notch below the average at 6.5 degrees, the India Meteorological Department said.

The city recorded 0.5 mm of rain around 3.30 a.m.

However, after a long gap, morning fog led to activation of Low Visibility Procedure at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The LVP was activated for three hours and fifteen minutes, airport officials said. However, no cancellation, delay or diversion of flights was reported.

Similar conditions are expected Monday, with the maximum temperature expected to be at around 22 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to be at 7 degrees, an IMD official said.
