Showers cool Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi, June 29 (IANS) It was a cool day in Delhi Wednesday as some parts of the city received rain and the maximum temperature settled at 33.4 degrees Celsius, three notches below average, said a weather department official.

He forecast more showers Thursday.

The minimum temperature Wednesday was 27.6 degrees Celsius which was average for this time of the season, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

“The national capital received 1.8 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The maximum humidity was recorded at 89 percent and the minimum was 66 percent,” said the official.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures would hover around 31 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively, tomorrow (Thursday),” added the official.

“The sky will remain generally cloudy with one or two rain spells. Some areas may receive heavy rain,” he said.
