Shimla slightly warm but cold persists in Himachal
December 28th, 2011 - 6:06 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Dec 28 (IANS) The cold wave slightly eased its grip in the state capital Shimla Wednesday but most parts of Himachal Pradesh saw temperatures below sub-zero.
The night temperature in Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district was minus 6.4 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus 2.5 degrees, while the temperature was minus 1.6 degrees in Manali and minus 0.4 degree at Solan town, said a statement from the meteorological department.
Shimla was slightly comfortable with a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius, a rise from Tuesday’s 3.6 degrees.
The weather office, however, said the state will not see any snow till New Year’s eve.
