Seattle Public Schools To Remain Closed Today

snowfallNov 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The heavy snow fall in Seattle created a lot of problems amongst its citizens. It had literally paralyzed the regular life of the people, who had to remain under their shelter, putting a halt to their regular routine. Most of the schools in Seattle announced a half day yesterday.

The schools have shown concern for their students and have decided to dismiss the classes of middle and high school 12:35 pm. The high schools and the middle school started on time but was dismissed early to restrain the students from facing the wrath of the harsh weather. The school authorities of the entire district canceled all activities that was supposed to be scheduled after 12:35 p.m. It even included the parents teachers meeting at elementary and K-8 schools. West Seattle Montessori and West Seattle Academy also resorted to the same option. They decided to dismiss the middle school at 11:30am, while the preschool till fourth grade dismissals was at 12pm. The schools even refused to take the responsibility of after school care and day care, considering the weather hazards and its effect on the children.

The schools have also declared that they remain closed today also as the weather reports have predicted the possibility of a stronger snow fall. Seattle Public Schools and The Meridian School have announced the news on their websites early. The other schools, who have not yet declared the holiday, will either resort to the same means or run 2 hours late. The snow fall is expected to get more intensified to cover up the streets of Seattle. South Seattle might be the wort affected today. Moreover, the paralysis of the public transport may create more problems for the students to reach the schools, in case they are open today.
