Scattered rainfall brings relief to Orissa
March 11th, 2010 - 2:34 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, March 11 (IANS) Scattered rainfall has brought relief to the people in several parts of Orissa Wednesday evening, the meteorological centre here said.
Rainfall occurred in the south coastal belt. Bhubaneswar and its adjoining Cuttack city also witnessed a brief spell of rain, an official said.
The maximum day temperature dropped to 36.8 degree Celsius at industrial town of Talcher in Angul district, some 126 km from Bhubaneswar Wednesday. This town recorded about 40 degree celsius in the past few days.
Several other places in the state also saw maximum temperature dropping by a degree or two. Light rain or thundershower would occur at various places in the state by Friday morning, the official said.
