London, May 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) BP consultant engineers who are setting the giant box to contain the oil spill, said that the containment box has now reached a depth of 4,930 feet on Saturday. BP officials said that they have under water Robots that are fixing the oil leak and are also diverting the leaked oil into the giant box. This particular new box is much smaller than the one that was placed earlier, which had failed to contain the oil leak.
They also said that they are considering other options to stop the leak, that has been gushing an amazing 200,000 gallons of oil into the gulf, and destroying the ecological balance of the gulf and the wildlife as well. Reports say that the oil has even reached the shores of many of the beaches over the weekend. Recently many dead fishes and turtles were washed ashore. Experts believe that their death could have been due to the oil spill. Even though no oil was apparently found on the body of the turtles, yet there are fears that they might have died because of eating oil-coated fish.
Engineers are now trying their very best to fix the problem and they seem to be racing against time. If the leak is not fixed, the disaster will be very damaging for all the people who are living on the Gulf Coast.
