Rainy start to Janmashtami festivities in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS) A brief spell of rain marked the beginning of the Janmashtami festivities in the capital Friday, raising hopes of a pleasant day ahead.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the capital received 6.8 mm of rainfall until 8.30 a.m. More showers are expected in the course of the day.

“It will mostly be cloudy skies through the day with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers,” an IMD official said.

The minimum temperature, however, did not change much, settling at one degree above the average at 26.5 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature will hover around 35 degrees Celsius, said the met department.
