The Met department has warned of unseasonal rains in several parts of the state. Heavy rains and cyclonic winds lashed the border districts of Banaskantha, otherwise a dry area even during rainy season, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Surendranagar.

The Met department has forecast heavy rains in Valsad district in the next 24 hours.

Several farmers are hoping the rains will not destroy their standing crop.
