Rains in store for Delhi Thursday (Lead)
February 10th, 2010 - 8:18 pm ICT (UTC +0700) by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS) The capital witnessed a cloudy and misty day, with a drop in the minimum temperature Wednesday. The met department has forecast rains for Delhi Thursday.
The minimum temperature recorded early Wednesday - although lower than Tuesday - was three notches above average at 12.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature Tuesday was 15 degrees.
The maximum temperature was a notch below the average at 22.3 degrees.
“There is a western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir, because of which Delhi is likely to receive rain and thundershowers in the later part of the day Thursday. The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 13 and 23 degrees respectively,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The capital has recorded 14.8 mm of rainfall so far this week.
