Rains in parts of Delhi, more likely (Lead)

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS) After a warm and cloudy morning, parts of the capital received light showers Sunday afternoon, and the Met department forecast more rains towards the evening.

“The rainfall received was 1.9 mm. A spell or two are likely towards the evening,” said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature recorded Sunday morning was 25.6 degrees Celsius while the maximum went three notches above average to 35.7 degrees Celsius.

According to the Delhi Traffic Police, no traffic jams were reported in the city as it was a Sunday.
