Rains cool Delhi

May 11th, 2008 - 5:33 pm ICT by admin -

New Delhi, May 11 (IANS) Residents of Delhi got a respite from the scorching sun as rains in the capital brought down the mercury Sunday. Pleasant weather is expected to continue till Monday.

The minimum temperature was 21.4 degrees Celsius, five notches below the normal and Delhi recorded rainfall of 3.4 mm, an official of the meteorological department said.

The maximum temperature at 36.5 degree Celsius registered a fall of three degrees.

“Partly cloudy sky will be witnessed May 12 and temperature will hover around a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius,” the official said.

“The weather was great when I woke up in the morning. Mild rains have given a relief from the blistering heat. I am planning to go to India Gate with my friends,” said Ritika Tiwari, a student.
