Rain forecast in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 26 (IANS) Overcast conditions prevailed in various parts of Punjab, Haryana and their joint capital city Chandigarh Thursday and the weatherman forecast light to moderate rainfall during the next 24 hours in the region.

Met officials have also forecast thunderstorms and dust storms in the region.

“Partly cloudy conditions are prevailing in various parts of Punjab and Haryana today (Thursday). There is a possibility of isolated spells of light to moderate rainfall in this region in the next 24 hours,” said a Met official here.

The centrally-administered city Chandigarh Thursday recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, which was two notches below normal, and a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.

“There was moderate rainfall in the region on Wednesday night that brought some respite from the heat. We are expecting similar conditions to prevail in this region for the next couple of days,” added the official.
