Rain expected in Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) The national capital Monday experienced a hot and windy day with the day temperature hovering above the normal level. The met office has forecast rains in the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature Monday settled at 36.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 28.7 degrees — both two notches above the normal.

The humidity settled at a high of 86 percent.

It was a bright sunny morning Monday and the weatherman predicted thundershowers later in the day. However, no rain was recorded in the city.

“Skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of thundershowers in some parts of the city in next 24 hours,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Delhi has so far received 223.1 mm of rain, five percent below the average.
