Rain at some places in Delhi (Lead)
April 11th, 2011 - 9:13 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 11 (IANS) Rain at a few places in the sprawling national capital Monday led to a slight drop in the maximum temperature, a Met department official said.
The rain — essentially, a drizzle — was caused by a western disturbance over Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
While the day remained partly cloudy, maximum temperature was recorded at 34.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below what is average for this time of the season. The minimum also remained below average at 20.1 degrees Celsius.
The weather office has forecast more rain till Wednesday.
“More rainfall is expected, more likely towards the evenings. Snowfall in parts of Himalayas has also resulted in cool breeze,” the official said.
A cooler day is expected for Tuesday with forecast of a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to be around 21 degrees. Rain is also expected.
