Pleasant morning in Delhi, rains expected
September 23rd, 2010 - 11:48 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 23 (IANS) It was a pleasant and breezy morning in the capital Thursday but conditions could change with the weather office predicting heavy rains and thundershowers during the day.
“Skies will remain cloudy and spells of rain and thundershowers are expected. One or two may be heavy later in the day,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Delhi received 27.3 mm of rainfall from Wednesday night to 8.30 a.m. Thursday.
The minimum temperature settled at 23.1 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, while the maximum temperature was expected to hover around 31 degrees.
The maximum humidity level was 98 percent and the minimum was 78 percent.
Delhi has seen one of its wettest monsoon this year with the total rainfall being 66 percent above the average at 1,031.5 mm.
