Pleasant morning in Delhi, rains expected

New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) It was a pleasant and breezy morning in Delhi Monday with the weather office predicting thundershowers during the day.
“For the next 24 hours, more rainfall is expected. Partly cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers is expected later in the day,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature was two notches below average at 25.2 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was expected to hover around 32.8 degrees, a degree below normal for this time of the season.

The maximum humidity level recorded was 97 percent and the minimum was 61 percent. “Humidity levels are very high and will remain so for some days more,” the official said.

Heavy rains lashed the capital Sunday. The total recorded rain for this season till Monday morning was 315.1 mm.
