Pleasant day in Delhi, rains likely Thursday (Lead)
August 10th, 2011 - 10:14 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) It was a pleasant day in the capital Wednesday as some parts of the city received rainfall and the skies remained cloudy for a major part of the day. The Met Office forecast more rains Thursday.
“The city received an average rainfall of 3.2 mm from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
However, this season has seen 212.7 mm of rainfall so far, which is 43 percent less than average.
The maximum temperature recorded was 32.7 degrees Celsius and the minimum 25.8. “Both are normal for this time of the year,” the official added.
Relative humidity wavered between 71 and 95 percent.
Delhiites can expect similar weather Thursday as the IMD forecast partly cloudy skies and a few spells of heavy rainfall in parts of the city.
“The maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 31 and 26 degrees Celsius,” said the IMD official.
