Pleasant day in Delhi, rains expected Friday (Lead)

New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS) It was a pleasant day in the capital Thursday as the sun played hide and seek with the clouds and the mercury stayed below normal levels. The met office has predicted showers for Friday.The maximum temperature was 24.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, while the minimum was 10.1 degrees, a notch below average, an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity levels wavered between a high of 93 percent and a low of 46 percent, the official added.

According to the IMD, the western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir may cause rainfall in the capital Friday.

“The skies will remain partly cloudy and there is a possibility of rain tomorrow (Friday) evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 25 and 11 degrees,” the IMD official added.

A total of 42.4 mm of rainfall has been received by the city this winter season, the official added.
