Orissa continues to shiver in cold wave
January 27th, 2010 - 3:13 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 27 (IANS) Orissa continued to shiver in cold wave conditions Wednesday as Phulbani town in Kandhamal district recorded a minimum temperature of 7.2 degrees Celsius, an official said.
“It (7.2 degrees) was the lowest of the day in the state,” a Bhubaneswar meteorological centre official told IANS.
Minimum temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees were recorded in Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Angul, Bhabanipatna, Koraput and Talcher.
The coastal region, however, remained warmer. Puri had a low of 17 degrees Celsius, Balasore 13.2 and Paradip 16.
State capital Bhubaneswar and its adjoining Cuttack recorded a minimum temperature of 14 degrees, the official said.
