Orange County Tornado Brings Life To A Standstill

dpt.Tornado-1.011910.dlCalifornia, Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) California was ravaged by an Orange County tornado that brought the life to a standstill. High wind accompanied the tornado. The weather experts are trying to figure out the cause. Some streets got flooded in areas like Long Beach and San Pedro. The Huntington Beach also witnessed high waves. Monday brought rainfall while Tuesday witnessed strong winds in the region. The inclement weather compelled the National Weather Service to issue a tornado warning.

The fire department officials found out that the wind was blowing at a speed of 93 mph. The residents of Southern California reported that the tornado sounded like a herd of elephants running wildly. A lot of houses in the area were damaged and the wind was so strong that it blew off many rooftops. Some residents got terrified after seeing huge pieces of rooftops flying and swirling in the air. A lot of public property was damaged in the storm.

It was like a twister and the duration was less than a minute. The cars standing by the roadside were struck with debris and mud which resulted into substantial damage for the owners. Some glass windows in the tornado struck region got shattered. Thankfully, no major incidents of car crashes were reported. However, minor car accidents occurred in several places and the reports started pouring in at the California Highway Patrol. Some of the schools in the region suffered damage from the storm and accompanying rain. On Tuesday, the students were advised to stay inside their schools when the tornado warning was issued. The school buses picked them up later.
