WASHINGTON D.C. (BNO NEWS) – The Obama Administration strongly disapproved of the Senate passage of S.J. Res. 26, which would affect the Clean Air Act and hinder the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ability to comply with greenhouse gasses ruling, the White House announced on Tuesday.

The Administration views the S.J. Res. 26 as the opposite of the comprehensive energy and climate legislation. They also claim it is the most effective way to a clean energy economy which will result in the creation of jobs, protection of the environment and the increase of national security.

The passage of the policy sponsored by Senator Murkowski of Alaska would block the implementation of an historic, multi-agency Federal program set in motion by President Obama to promote fuel economy standards that will reduce oil consumption, save American consumers more than $3,000 in fuel costs over the lifetime of a model year 2016 vehicle, and limit pollution from tailpipe emissions.

Finally, the Obama Administration declared that the proposed policy would undermine current efforts to reduce impact of pollution, and it would undo the reduction of pollution from oil companies, oil refineries and other large-scale polluters.

The senior advisers of Obama would recommend him to veto the resolution if the President is ultimately presented with this resolution.
