(All India weather report)

New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) Millions in the northern plains witnessed lower than usual maximum temperatures Wednesday. The national capital witnessed maximum temperature at 32 degrees Celsius, three degrees down from Monday. The minimum temperature was 19.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees down from what is normal at this time of the season.

Though Delhi did not get any rain, parts of Haryana and northern Rajasthan saw scattered showers. Jaipur recorded 7.8 mm of rain. This cooled the air down, creating a pleasant weather for the day.

The coastal parts of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh also witnessed rain so did Assam and many parts of northeastern India. Guwahati, which has had a rainy week throughout, saw 10 mm of rain Wednesday.

Under the influence of wind discontinuity and moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, scattered rain is likely to continue over northeastern states for the next three days, said the Met Office bulletin.

The following were the maximum and minimum temperatures and rainfall in major cities for the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, with figures in brackets denoting deviations from the average.
