NGO to hold TV contest for clean, green energy

New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) A leading NGO, in order to promote clean and green energy and reach out to the masses, will hold a competition, where the winners will be able to showcase their work on national and regional channels. It is the fourth annual nationwide environment television spot contest on the theme of “Clean Energy, Green Energy” by the Earth Communications Office-India Association (ECO India).

“The contest winners will get an opportunity to show their work on national and regional TV channels with a credit by-line as well.” an official release of ECO India said Saturday.

Apart from people from the creative field, the contest is open to anyone with a vision, the release added.

The last date for receiving entries is Oct 15.

ECO India is into promoting environmental awareness in the country through mass media. It seeks concerned citizens from the media and entertainment industry to produce and broadcast public service announcements aimed to promote awareness on environment, the release said.

ECO India has so far broadcast 14 television spots and four radio spots on different environment themes such as water, vehicle and noise pollution on various television and radio channels, the statement added.

ECO India’s board members include president and chairman Reliance Entertainment Amit Khanna, chief executive officer of TV Today Network G. Krishnan, chief strategy officer Peter Mukerjee of INX Network, and Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director of Madison Communications.
