Muggy morning in Delhi, rains likely

New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) It was a muggy start to the weekend for Delhiites as the humidity level touched 86 percent Saturday morning. But the Met office held out hope, predicting heavy showers later in the day.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), only traces of rainfall have been recorded over the past 24 hours in the capital.

“The skies will remain cloudy today with the possibility of a heavy spell of rain in some parts of the city,” an IMD official said.

The minimum temperature was recorded a notch above average at 27.9 degrees Celsius while the maximum is expected to hover around 34 degrees.

On Friday, the minimum and maximum temperatures touched 27.6 and 35.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
